2011-09 Meeting Minutes
MINUTES
September 10, 2011
Our annual BBQ supper was held at the Neosho Fish Hatchery. After a wonderful meal, a short
meeting was called to order at 7:25 pm by President Linda Arment. There were 18 members
present and 8 guests. A BIG thanks again to Bill Andrews for arriving early and cooking the
meat and beans. As always, it was great!
SECRETARY’S REPORT: Minutes from August’s meeting were made available to members
via the website and e-mail. A motion to accept the minutes was M/S/C.
TREASURER’S REPORT: The bank balance as of September 10, 2011 is $4,434.64. A motion
was M/S/C to accept the report.
NEW BUSINESS:
A new class will begin this Monday, September 12 in Pineville, next to the Extension Office.
This class will meet on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 pm.
PINEVILLE BUTTERFLY GARDEN-A motion was M/S/C to accept plans designed by experts
from the MDC. Arrangements have been made with Gwen Schroder to purchase $117 in Grow
Native! plants. Tentative work days will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30 when
plans are finalized.
CROWDER RAIN GARDEN- A fountain has been installed and plants purchased through the
Elk River Watershed grant. Workdays are TBA.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
September 20: MDC will be presenting a Naturescaping workshop at the Wildcat Glades Center
in Joplin from 6-8 pm
September 22: Pollinator Workshop in Mt. Vernon; see John for details
September 23-25: State MG Convention in Hannibal
October 7-8: Blueberry School (More info in newsletter and on website)
October 22-FALL GARDENING WORKSHOP: Sponsored by MGers of the Ozarks in
Kimberling City. (More info in newsletter and on website)
NEXT MEETING: We will meet at the Extension Center on October 4 at 6:30 pm.
A motion was M/S/C to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 pm.
