MINUTES
July 5, 2011
Our meeting was held at the Neosho Fish Hatchery beside Jerry’s memorial. After enjoying homemade ice cream, Assistant Manager Rod Mays gave us a tour of the new facility and explained the operation. A short meeting was called to order at 8:30 pm by Vice-President Jutta McCormick. There were 16 members present and 3 guests.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: Minutes from June’s meeting were made available to members via the website and e-mail. A motion to accept the minutes was postponed until August after corrections were made.
TREASURER’S REPORT: The bank balance as of June 30, 2011 is $4,479.49, excluding a printing bill for $24.87 for brochures and business cards. A motion was M/S/C to accept the report.
OLD BUSINESS
FAIRS-Beth Persons and Beverly Resendiz passed around sign-up sheets for members to volunteer to staff the booths during the upcoming fairs. Four gift certificates have been donated for door prizes.
BROCHURES/BUSINESS CARDS: New brochures and business cards have been printed and are ready for distribution.
SHIRT ORDERS- Bill Andrews brought finished shirts for members to pick-up.
CARVER DAYS-Sherry McBride has staff and plants needed for the exhibit on Saturday, July 9.
LENDONWOOD GARDENS: Several members were able to tour the gardens in Grove, OK on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 am and enjoyed meeting other Master Gardeners.
NEW BUSINESS: ANNUAL BBQ-There was discussion about changing September’s meeting date from Tuesday, September 6 to Saturday, September 10. A suggestion was made to move the meeting to picnic facilities at the Hatchery. Discussion was tabled until August’s meeting but members are encouraged to bring their suggestions.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Long-time member Dave Whitson announced that he and his wife will be relocating on August 1 to Florida to be closer to family. We appreciate everything he has done for the Club and he will be greatly missed.

NEXT MEETING: We will meet at the Extension Center on August 2 at 6:30.
A motion was M/S/C to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 pm.
